### Hackers heat fridges at hundreds of French supermarkets, spoiling food and sparking fires

Hackers raised fridge and freezer temperatures in hundreds of French supermarkets overnight, to as high as 50C at some stores, causing small fires and food losses. Carrefour said 80 stores were hit, Monoprix said 5% of its stores, and Intermarché owner Les Mousquetaires said about 150. Paris prosecutors opened a cybercrime inquiry, and a source in the prime minister's office said the national cybersecurity agency had found a flaw in software from Danish firm Danfoss; Danfoss said affected units ran outdated firmware.
