The co-pilot reportedly confessed to UAE investigators that he acted to avenge Gaza and wanted to die as a martyr, while Israel is trying to determine whether he acted alone or was sent by someone else.

### Francis Halzen wins Nobel physics prize for IceCube neutrino work

Belgian-born physicist Francis Halzen, 82, of the University of Wisconsin–Madison won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics for "decisive contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and the discovery of high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin."
